When getting into contact with us (for example via email, telephone or social media) the data of the contacting person will be processed, when it is necessary for the response and possible inquired actions.

The response to all inquiries in the context of contractual and pre-contractual relations is carried out in fulfillment of our contractual duties or in response to (pre)contractual inquiries and furthermore on the basis of the qualified interests in the response of all inquiries.

  • affected people: partners in communication
  • purpose of processing: inquiries and communication
  • legal foundation: contractual and precontractual fulfillment (Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit b. DSGVO), qualified interests (art. 6 bs. 1 S. lit. f. DSGVO).


3. Server log files

The website provider collects and saves data automatically in so called server log files, which are transferred to us automatically from your browser. They are:

  • browser type and version
  • used operating system
  • reference URL
  • host name of accessing computer
  • time of server request

A consolidation of this data with other data sources is not performed.

The gathering of this data takes place on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a qualified interest in the technically accurate presentation and the optimisation of his website – for this the server log files have to be gathered.


4. Processing of donator data

We gather, process and use personal data only, if it is necessary for the justification, the content design or for changes of legal relationships or if it is legally obligatory for example because of changes in tax law. This takes place on the basis of Art. 6 1 lit. b and c DSGVO. Personal data through the use of our websites, we only gather, process and use insofar it is necessary to be able to facilitate our customer’s use of our services or for billing purposes.

The processed data will be deleted after completion of the contract or ending of the business relationship. Legal storage periods remain untouched.


5. Newsletter

If you want to receive the newsletter offered on our website, we need your email address. Further data will not be gathered, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for the transmission of the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of data entered in the newsletter entry form occurs exclusively on the basis of your agreement (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can always revoke the given agreement to save the data, the email address and its use to send the newsletter by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. The legitimacy of the already occured data processing remains untouched by revoking the agreement.

The data deposited by you to receive the newsletter will be saved until you unsubscribe and then get deleted. Data saved for other purposes will remain untouched by unsubscribing from the newsletter.


This website uses mailjet for the distribution of newsletters. The provider is Mailjet SAS, 13-13 bis, Rue de l’Aubrac – 75012 Paris, France. Mailjet is a service that organises distribution and analysis of newsletters. All data provided for receival of the newsletter will be saved on Mailjet servers in the EU.

Our with Mailjet sent newsletters allows us the analysis of the behaviour of the newsletter recipient. We can analyze for example, how many recipients have opened the newsletter and how often which link in the newsletter gets clicked. Through conversion- tracking we can also analyse, if after clicking a link in the newsletter a previously defined action takes place (e.g. purchase of a product on our website). Mailjet allows for categorisation of newsletter recipients (“segmentation”). This enables us to differentiate between newsletter recipients through the data provided while subscribing. This way we can adjust the newsletter according to target groups.

The processing of data takes place on the basis of your agreement (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this agreement anytime  by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legitimacy of already having occurred data processing procedures remain untouched by this revocation.

If you don’t want analysis through Mailjet, you have to unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking the link that is included in every newsletter. You can also unsubscribe the newsletter directly on the website.

All data provided by you for receival of the newsletter will be saved by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and get deleted from our servers as well as from the Mailjet servers once you unsubscribe. Data that is saved by us for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the membership area) remains untouched by this.

Finalization of a data processing agreement

We have a contract about commissioned data processing with Mailjet and completely implement the strict guidelines of the german data protection authority while using Mailjet.


6. Payment processing

For the payment of your investment in plastic neutrality we use the payment provider PayPal.

For this purpose we transmit your data to PayPal on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit b DSGVO (processing for the fulfillment of a contract) and our legitimate interest in including a safe and efficient payment provider. The transmitted data includes:

  • donation amount
  • date
  • time

Amongst the data processed by this payment provider are stock data like for example the name, address, bank account details like bank account number or credit card number, passwords, TANs and security codes as well as contract, sum and recipient related details. The details are necessary to process the transaction. The input data will only be processed and saved by the payment provider. That means that we don’t receive any bank account or credit card related details, but information with the confirmation or cancellation of payment.

Possibly the data will be sent to credit reporting agencies by the payment providers. This transfer has the purpose to check identity and solvency. For this we refer to the Terms and Conditions and the privacy notice of PayPal.


7. Cookies

For the processing and technical protection of payments through the provider PayPal, this service installs cookies (small text data)on your computer that collect and forward data. These cookies are technically necessary cookies. The legal basis for the processing of personal data by the following cookies is founded in the valid interest of PayPal to ensure safe servicing.

8. Web Analysis Matomo

Matomo is a web based analysis software that we use to track user behaviour. Through the extension AnonymizeIP your IP address gets processed shortened – this way we rule out direct personal reference of your data.

By default we collect following data next to your anonymised IP address:

  • point in time and date of request
  • title of page read
  • URL of page read
  • URL of page read previously (referral page)
  • used screen resolution
  • timezone of visitor
  • which files are clicked and downloaded
  •  outlinks
  • page load time
  • approximate location of visitor (the short visible part of the IP address tells the country of visitor)
  • language of browser
  • user agent header


9. SSL respectively TLS encryption

For safety reasons and to protect the transfer of sensitive content like for example orders or requests that you send to us as the website operator, this website uses a SSL respectively TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection in the address field of your browser, when it switches from “http://” to “https://” and shows a lock symbol.

Wenn the SSL respectively TLS encryption is activated, no third parties can read along the data that you transmit to us.
